Text Message Service

To improve communication and reduce missed appointments from 16/10/13 we will be activating our free

patient text messaging service.

We will use this to send out appointment reminders, practice news and health promotion.

In the 2 weeks before the switch on date of 16/10/13 we will be sending out a promotional text message to all

our patients who have a registered mobile phone number.

If you wish to "opt out" of this service it is your responsibility to inform us.

This is an additionalservice and reminders may not be sent on all occasions but theresponsibility for attending appointments or cancelling them still rests with you the patient.

You can cancel the text message facility at any time.

Text messages are generated using a secure facility which is then transmitted over a public network onto a personal telephone andas such may not be completely secure. However the practice will not transmit anyinformation which would enable an individual patient to be identified.

It is your responsibility to ensure we have your current personal mobile phone number and that you inform us if it is changed or you wish to "opt out" of this service
